| HYDROBLAST® COOLANT PUMPS |
| For over 20 years, CJT Koolcarb, Inc. has been
selling high pressure, positive displacement coolant pumps. Our flexible design enables
them to be used in many different machining applications. It is important to us that your investment in a high pressure pump pays off. In order for that to be true, the pump will need to perform properly over the range of sizes and styles of tools that you expect to use. To assure that the pump will perform as expected, please take advantage of the information provided on the "Minimum Pressure Recommended for Deep Hole Drilling" and the "Coolant Flow Capacities for Drills" pages in the technical section. For tools such as indexable drills, reamers, drills from other manufacturers and multiple tool setups; please call CJT's application department for assistance. |
Before placing your order it is important that you be aware of the following: |
| CJT's high pressure, positive displacement
pumps* require a continuous, positive head pressure at their
suction side to prevent cavitation. In other words, the high pressure pumps must be fed
coolant constantly with more volume than they can pump. We suggest installing a low
pressure, feed pump matched to the proper volume and the total filtration it will need to
pump through. In nearly all cases, a preliminary filter in addition to the high pressure
pump's small in-line filter, will provide a more practical interval between cleanings. Due to its specific nature, the selection of the proper filtration (and feed pump, if it must push coolant through the preliminary filter) requires some expertise. All but the most experienced customer is encouraged to seek the advice of one of the popular filter manufacturers. To insure that the high pressure pump doesn't starve for coolant, the volume of the sump should be 5 to 10 times greater than the pump's maximum gpm output. For applications where a central coolant system is the supply, the delivery pressure should be constant and between 30 to 90 psig. Have a qualified electrician refer to the Pump Electrical Schematic to guide your selection of the appropriate line and control voltage. CJT will configure your pump based on the information below. |
